Abstract

This dataset contains the locations of littercans in Washington DC maintained by the Department of Public Works. The data indicates the location, the type of littercan (steel or concrete), and whether or not it is located next to a bus stop. This data does not include littercans maintained by private concerns, BIDs, or other organizations. The littercan location points were "heads-up"digitized in the field. The "heads-up" digitizing took place in reference to digital orthophoto planimetric data of the City using an ArcPad application operating on a Tablet PC.

Purpose

To document littercan locations throughout the city for planning and analysis and to facilitate the determination of littercan collection routes
