Abstract
Hotel locations. The dataset contains locations and attributes of Hotels, created as part of the DC Geographic Information System (DC GIS) for the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and participating D.C. government agencies.
A database provided by the DC Taxi Commission (DCTC) and research at various commercial websites identified Hotels and DC GIS staff geo-processed the data.
All DC GIS data is stored and exported in Maryland State Plane coordinates NAD 83 meters.
METADATA CONTENT IS IN PROCESS OF VALIDATION AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
Purpose
This data is used for the planning and management of Washington, D.C. by local government agencies.

Hotel locations were created from several data sources and located geocoding to the DC Master Address Repository. Staff updated weblinks via web research and verified locations using the 2005 and 2006 aerial and satellite imagery.
The number of rooms was acquired through web research. Where the value is zero, staff could not research the number of rooms in the hotel.

- Korman Communities is named 'AKA White House' at 1710 H STREET NW [ this is extended stay corporate housing with Hotel ameneties.)
- Added 'The Quincy Hotel' to 1823 L STREET NW
- Removed Kimpton Hotel, the Starwood Hotel, and the Swiiss Inn
- Changed address of The Ritz Carlton DC to 1150 22nd Street NW
- Changed named of the hotel at 1155 14th STREET NW to Donovan House.
