Abstract

Juvenile arrest locations. The dataset contains a subset of juvenile arrest locations and attributes reported in the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Arrest database by the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) makes over 90% of arrests inside the District of Columbia. Arrests are occasionally altered or expunged by the court system.

This data is maintained in Maryland State Plane coordinates NAD 83 meters.

Purpose

This dataset has been created by Citywide Data Warehouse program of the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD). The mission of the Citywide Data Warehouse is to provide timely and accurate information for decision-making; support executive and agency management in the implementation of business processes which will guarantee access to useful and well-organized information for DC Government workers, non-governmental organizations, and citizens/the public.
