Abstract

This dataset displays a listing of Registered Surveyors in the District of Columbia authorized to perform field surveys and wall examinations. The mission of the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs is to protect the health, safety, economic interests, and quality of life of residents, businesses, and visitors in the District of Columbia by issuing licenses and permits, conducting inspections, enforcing building, housing, and safety codes, regulating land use and development, and providing consumer education and advocacy services. The Office of the Surveyor maintains the legal records of all land plats and subdivisions of private and District government property within the District of Columbia. The existing records cover a period of more than two centuries. Information is available, on a walk-in basis, regarding the surveying of property within the District. Additional information about the Office of the Surveyor may be found on the DCRA website.

Purpose

This dataset has been created by Citywide Data Warehouse program. The mission of the Citywide Data Warehouse is to provide timely and accurate information for decision-making; support executive and agency management in the implementation of business processes which will guarantee access to useful and well-organized information for DC Government workers, non-governmental organizations, and the public.
